Our laboratory has been approved as Information Technology Security Evaluation Facility (ITSEF) within the National IT Security Evaluation and Certification Scheme (ENECSTI), to perform IT security evaluations according to "Common Criteria for Information Technology Security Evaluation" and "Common Methodology for Information Technology Security Evaluation".
Common Criteria is the result of the sum of software safety criteria already used by different countries so that the results of the evaluation process could be accepted in multiple countries. It establishes a set of requirements to define the security functions of IT products and systems and the criteria for assessing their security.
The assessment process, conducted by accredited security laboratories, ensures that the security functions of such products and systems meet the stated requirements.
The evaluation process verifies the following aspects:
- Product requirements are defined correctly.
- The requirements are correctly implemented.
- The product development and documentation process meets certain previously established requirements.
